Ian Baker (Founder/Chief/Dundee)

Ian Baker is a private pilot and aircraft engineer with experience on both military and commercial jet aircraft. Ian has vast experience in building high performance composite carbon aircraft with a total experience of 16 years. This current project is his 6th Glasair aircraft.

His career includes working for Ansett Airlines where he obtained his formal qualifications as an aircraft engineer. He currently works, as time permits, as an aircraft engineer in the Middle East.

 

Dante Edwards (Manager/Pilot)

Dante has been involved in the Sport Class from its inception. In 1998, as a retired FAA Air Traffic Controller, Dante helped to organize the Class before starting his second career as a commercial pilot. He is an Airline Transport rated pilot with 33 years of flying experience.

In 2001, Dante entered the Sport Class as a participating pilot for the first time, and qualified his Glasair III Third Chance. His best finishing was 3rd place in the Silver division in 2004. His fastest speed in that airplane was 451 kph in 2005.

   

Mark Gray (Engineering Manager)

Mark is a private pilot and an aircraft engineer specialising in engine component overhaul. He has helped restore many different types of aircraft from World War II fighters to Red Bull racers.

He has an obsession with speed and efficiency and a track record to prove he can achieve what he sets out to do. For leisure Mark modifies and races V8 circuit boats (where he still holds some speed records and National titles, drag cars, rally cars and go-karts. Now he wants to add an
exceptionally fast aircraft to the list...

 

Greg Gurley (Crew)

Greg Gurley has been involved in Air Racing at Reno for  15 years. He  also serves as an Official Pylon Judge for  RARA for the T6 Class. Greg has been involved in the Sport Class for 5 years and has participated as the Assistant Crew Chief  Under the Guidance of Gordon Beeson for Dante Edwards on the  Third Chance Glasair III  Race 65 Airplane.

Greg is an accomplished aircraft builder completing his own Experimental Vans RV8A and has worked on many other variations of experimental and certified aircraft. Greg Gurley currently holds a Private Pilot SEL Rating and a Commercial Rotorcraft / Helicopter Rating.
